donde: Los Angeles
13TH LOS ANGELES LATINO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (LALIFF) October 11 – 16, 2009 @ Chinese 6 Mann Cinemas on Hollywood Blvd. The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF), is a non-profit 501c (3) organization whose mission is to support and promote the development and exhibition of diverse visions by Latino filmmakers. In the process promoting awareness of the richness and diversity of our Latin cultures, our artistry and our countries through film, the most powerful medium in the world, as a way to foster cultural harmony while serving as a springboard and catalyst for the promotion and distribution of Latino film as we develop an audience for our works.
The Festival would like to invite all volunteers, but is particularly in need of volunteers with expertise or a great disposition to work in the following areas:
Office Support: telephone reception, filing, correspondence.
Production: productions assistants.
Film presentations: staging filmmaker’s panel, screenings and events.
Reception/Special events: set-up of sites, catering, and coordination of guests.
Transportation: responsible drivers who will welcome accompany visiting filmmakers/VIPs.
Bilingual volunteers are especially encouraged, but this is not a requirement. The Latino International Film Festival is a wonderful opportunity for you to participate in a community effort that promotes Latino culture, art and film in Los Angeles. All volunteers will receive 2 movie passes/tickets for every 8 volunteered hours (excluding gala features) in appreciation for their efforts. Other incentives include a complementary shift meal, festival t-shirts and noteworthy opportunities.
