Using case studies, the 2,5-day workshop compares tested and proven digital production processes and solutions presently available to European film production. The second part of the programme will be devoted to the review of the participants’ projects.
What is Digital Production Challenge?
Objective of the workshop
The objective of DIGITAL PRODUCTION CHALLENGE is to give producers, executive producers and production managers the tools and the methods of analysis to choose between the various digital production processes available today.
Subjects and skills taught
This 2,5-day workshop will give an overview of the digital production processes and the specific challenges of each aspect of these processes. It will investigate each step from shooting the film to delivering the copies.
- Cameras and shooting systems
- Data supports and data management
- Backup copies
- Integration into the off-line editing system
- Conformation, special effects, grading…
- Film transfer, copies of antenna bands and DVD burning
- “Digital Cinema Package” (different language versions and subtitling, encrypting and keys for digital distribution…)
- Communications which insure a coherent interface between the partners in these many steps
