56th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen
plazo: 15 January 2010
cuando: 29 April - 4 May 2010
donde: Oberhausen, Germany
The next edition of our Festival will take place from 29 April to 4 May 2010.
As in previous years, works of all genres and formats may be submitted. They must not exceed a length of 35 minutes (45 minutes in the German Competition) and have been produced no earlier than 1 January 2008 (1 January 2009 in the German Competition).
Please note that the festival screening for an international production must be a German festival premiere, which will ensure a lot more media and industry attention.
We would like to inform you that again there are two separate entry deadlines for international and German productions: international submissions must have reached Oberhausen by 15 January 2010 (German productions by 15 February 2010). There will be no more extensions!
In addition, preview copies will be accepted on DVD only. You can download our entry form in English, German, French and Spanish in our site.
All submitted films/videos will be part of the Video Library, where they can be previewed by buyers, curators, representatives of other festivals and other professionals.
The MuVi-Award for the best German music video has its own set of regulations and entry form.

Festival programme 2010
We would like to inform you by now about our next year’s festival edition. Besides the competitions which feature works by artists and filmmakers from across the globe, an extensive theme programme will be devoted to From the Deep. The great experiment 1898-1918. This programme invites audiences to discover and experience early cinema (focusing on the years 1905-1915) as a forgotten but very contemporary practice of production and presentation and a real alternative to today’s cinema and museum practices. With this programme, Oberhausen continues its exploration of an imaginary museum, a museum where cinema is not just an ideological appendix but where the museum itself is reinvented by cinema.
Further contents of the 56th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen will be published at the beginning of 2010.
Looking forward to your submission and with best regards,
Lars Henrik Gass
