We are seeking an ambitious, visionary Director with the will and courage to strengthen Kunsthal Charlottenborg’s position in the international art world, and, in cooperation with our proactive Governing Board, to develop and implement a powerful artistic vision.
The Director will be allowed maximum artistic and personal freedom to ensure Kunsthal Charlottenborg’s reach as an agenda-setting organisation, recognised nationally and internationally for its exhibition programmes, international cooperation, innovative interdisciplinary initiatives and specialist publications.
The successful candidate will have: excellent interpersonal skills; an international perspective and network; a solid focus on modern and contemporary art; the ability, aspiration and courage to discourse with all stakeholders in the art world; experience in innovative communication and media praxis; a talent for organisation; personal drive; the will to succeed; an acute understanding of the correlation between finances and politics; and, naturally, attach importance to close dialogue with Kunsthal Charlottenborg’s Governing Board.
The Director will have thorough knowledge and proven experience of financial control, financing and fund raising.
The Director is appointed by Kunsthal Charlottenborg’s Governing Board, to which he or she will report directly. This appointment is fixed term.
