PAPERS:

Over the past several months, several new submissions have been published in A&E Papers: In “Minimalist Art vs. Modernist Sensibility: A Close Reading of Michael Fried’s ‘Art and Objecthood,’” Merve Ünsal explores the incongruity of the modernist art movement with Minimalism using the vocabulary of modernism through Fried’s seminal essay. Meanwhile, an article by Sasha Engelmann investigates the rhetoric of eco-activism in Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson’s work. Other contributions include a paper by curator Christian L. Frock examining the shifting grounds of public art and venue.

To read all articles in the A&E Papers archive, visit http://artandeducation.net/papers/

To submit articles, or to make inquiries, e-mail papers@artandeducation.net. All scholarly articles on art history and contemporary art are welcome.

While A&E Papers facilitates the distribution of scholarly articles online, the authors maintain responsibility for all content published in the A&E Papers database.
