Con el objetivo de reconocer, fomentar y difundir las artes contemporáneas de los pueblos indígenas del continente americano nace esta convocatoria en la que podrán participar creadores o colectivos indígenas originarios de cualquier país del continente americano. La temática debe estar relacionada con el tiempo, el espacio, el medio ambiente y el universo intelectual, simbólico y estético de las culturas indígenas; así mismo y las formas creativas, los recursos y materiales de la obra deben partir del patrimonio artístico vivo del pueblo indígena del creador o colectivo que la propone. Pintura, grabado, dibujo e ilustración, video, arte plumario, arte textil, escultura, desbastados, moldeados, modelados, fibras y cortezas vegetales y adorno corporal podrán participar de esta convocatoria cuya fecha de cierre es el martes 10 de abril de 2012.
Al igual que en ediciones anteriores, el certamen contará con una Competencia Internacional abierta a realizadores de todo el mundo con largometrajes y cortometrajes terminados después del 1 de enero de 2011. Los realizadores mexicanos contarán, además, con una competición exclusiva para obras de ficción y documental en la que se eligirá el mejor largometraje mexicano y nuevoleonés y el mejor corto mexicano.
This $5,000 grant will be awarded to a proposed work of literary translation from Portuguese into English and is open to anyone under the age of 30. The translation must fall under the category of fiction or letters, and the applicant will propose his or her own translation project. The project should be manageable for a five-month period of work, as the grant will be awarded in June 2012, and the translation must be completed by October 2012.

El llamado está abierto a películas que traten temáticas latinas o que hayan sido realizados o protagonizados por latinos. El certamen cuenta con las siguientes secciones competitivas: narrativas hechas en los Estados Unidos, documentales y cortometrajes.
Las secciones no competitivas del festival son, a su vez, narrativas hechas en otros países y “NYILFF On the Edge”, que incluirá películas “no tradicionales”.

The ICP-Bard Program in Advanced Photographic Studies, a two-year graduate program leading to a master of fine arts degree, integrates the practice, history, and critical study of photography with an emphasis on both academic study and field experience. The program, based in the heart of New York City, provides the basis for students to transform their photographic practice and to find effective new ways to apply this knowledge in their professional lives.
The fellowships range from one to three months, with stipends of $3,000 per month. Also available are $1,200 to $1,700 travel stipends and dissertation fellowships with a $1,500 stipend. During the fellowship, scholars will work on-site in the Center’s collections in Austin, TX. Austin is home to a thriving film community including the Austin Film Festival, Austin Film Society, and the South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival.
With veracity under attack and audiences left to search for reliable perspectives on the world, SOC DOC trains the next generation of documentarians in real-world experience, professional standards, and innovative approaches to documentary, representation, and argument. SOC DOC taps faculty across the UCSC campus to provide students with access to expertise across traditional disciplinary lines, grounding M.A. students in the deepest understanding of subject as well as medium.
The MFAEDA is a unique initiative that couples experimental visual practice with the documentary arts in a rigorous two-year program. Building on the University’s existing strengths in historical, theoretical and technological scholarship, the MFAEDA offers a distinct learning environment that sees interdisciplinary education as a benchmark for innovation. The program combines core courses and electives in critical theory, studio practice and independent study, culminating in the completion of a thesis paper and MFA exhibition.
